The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution in Nablus held a political conference about " The horizons of the Palestinian national reconciliation " on Thursday .
Media teacher at Al Najah University , Mr. Farid Abu Duhair , presented a subject about the role of the media in the reconciliation , confirming that the Palestinian media has the biggest responsibility in reinforcing the Palestinian split .
Abu Duhair said that the media played a big role in the split and it used inflammatory items which reinforced the split culture to the young and the children in Palestine .
Also, he pointed out that the media can participate in the Palestinian reconciliation by making a general point of view that affects the parts of the split in order to start the national reconciliation that keeps the Palestinians' rights .
Abu Duhair asked the media to make investigations to reveal the facts and identify the reasons of the split and to create ideas to treat and end the split .
Also, he confirmed that there is fear among the Palestinian journalist of the accountability of the media means administration or the security agencies .
From his side, the member of Cairo dialogue committee , Khalil Assaf , said that Hamas and Fateh don’t want the agreement as they have their own interests and commitments which prevent them from the reconciliation .
Assaf stated that the Palestinian organizations did wrong against the Palestinian people and that the split began more than 20 years ago but in 2006 , it had the military form and the split between Gaza and the West bank . .
From his side , the searcher and the activist in the center , Mohammed Isa , emphasized that they hold conferences and meetings with the various parts of the people to resolve the Palestinian conflict .
Also , he put the responsibility on the Palestinians saying that they called upon popular activities in order to make the leaders end the split but there were few attendees so that the people aren't interested in the reconciliation .
